I have two annual get-togethers every year with stated
no politics rules. One is HS friends, and one with college friends. Kind of sad, really. Didn't use to be that way.
Also, at family gatherings, we don't have a stated rule, but nobody mentions politics, unless it is a side discussion. It is just so toxic now.
