He's 47, so just 3 years younger than me. I think that's a BIG gap

from someone in their 30s. Granted, I never dressed up in "blackface" BUT I could envision having innocently dressed up like Michael Jackson or Mike Tyson for Halloween in the 80s and I don't think anyone would have thought too much of it at the time (myself included). I wouldn't have done it in a way that was derogatory towards blacks or focused on racial stereotypes, and it would have been done innocently for humor about a popular pop culture icon of the time and without any racial malice involved. Now I realize today, that would be totally off limits, but in the 80s and 90s, and even in to the early '00s....not so much. Hell there was an entire movie in the 80s with the main character in blackface.

Now dressing up as a KKK member next to someone in blackface. I would have known that was totally unacceptable. But Trudeau's picture as alladin seems innocent enough. Let him apologize (which itself seems silly) and move on.
