I have no idea how many were killed or displaced by ISIS. Yes, it is a humanitarian crisis but all military action usually produces some bad fallout. The real fallout from the Iraq war was the creation of ISIS. It was our mess. And, guess what, if we continue to try and police this area, we will have more crisis in the future. Guaranteed.

Folks, the Middle East is the oldest civilized (if you can call it civilized) area on the planet. They have been killing each other for 8-10 thousand years. We could have, maybe, prevented some of the current situation but long term ? Forget it. We had to withdraw sometime. Trump did it and now we have a problem. But, anytime we withdrew it would leave a power vacuum in some areas. The result would be very predictable.

I absolutely believe that all the intervention possible in the Middle East will result in lost lives, monies spent and hard feelings towards the foreign power doing the intervention. The British tried for decades before basically being run out.

We may be forced to back the Saudis against the Iranians in the near future. More war. If there is anyway under Heaven to avoid more Middle East occupation, intervention or war, that is the policy we should follow. Our best hope is to seek ways to contain the violence to that area of the world and let the 'locals' sort it out. Geez people, don't rush to judgement because Ass-hole Trump was the President who said withdraw. Basing foreign policy on an anti-Trump sentiment is just crazy.
