take your pick - good governance; strict constructionism, as I presume you think of yourself as a self-described conservative; just sense of decency - be influenced by certain over the top statements you think others are making? For starters, you have to be able to be honest enough to admit your own biases, so your opinion of "over the top" is slanted (no more or less than mine, admittedly). You can't control how other people react to something like this - you can only control how you react.

The Emoluments Clause of the Constitution is a real thing. How can an objection to that be considered disingenuous - by someone who thinks of himself as a conservative?

The savings to the budget, if any, are completely irrelevant. The Emoluments violation exists anyway. That is about a pres using his power to enrich himself, and is not offset by a claim of saving the govt money.
