By and large, I credit Guiliani with being a good mayor for the city when


He served. Not many NYers IMO thought of him as a genius, or as anything other than a politician, but he was a stong and steadying presence at the tail end of the crack and drug fueled crime waves, and during 9/11, who's greatest sins were becoming the man who would be king, which I think also afflicted Koch and Bloomberg late in their terms. So he was a politician but a good one for NY on whole. His transformation to a would-be political strongman's attack dog, no better than Michael Cohen, is disturbing to a lot of us NYers.

Yeah, I thought Barr was known as a lawyer with integrity with strong convictions in favor of a strong exec branch. He is all in on the exec branch, but the integrity is AWOL.
