of draining the swamp means dismantling the foundations of self government. We see it being done right before our eyes, so it is being done with a purpose. This is the way that democracies die, a law flouted here, a federal department compromised there, or an election rigged somewhere else, until after multiple examples of this, American democracy as we know it ceases to exist.

A failure to call for an accounting for these assaults on our form of government only serves to legitimize them.
