The 59 victim of the Las Vegas massacre that happened 2 years ago has died

From her injuries. She was shot in the back & had been paralyzed from the neck down. May she RIP.
I also saw where MGM settled the case for all of the victims a few months back for between 775-800 million. While the shooting was a horrible tragedy & I feel sad for the vitims, what did MGM do wrong to have to pay a penalty of 800 million?
