was much less "sanitary". As you post, it most certainly was. That was the way of the world! I agree completely. You have every right to be proud of your ancestors accomplishments - in fact you should be. Your ancestor's accomplishments should be recorded in its proper context.

As to the name of the school, I was not trying to offend you or your family. However, the school's name doesn't do anything regarding history. If it is offensive to others, then change it. It is a small thing especially in regards to history. In fact, the argument I usually hear regarding these name change controversies is something to the effect of "snowflakes get upset about everything." In other words the trivialize the issues. If the issue is in fact trivial, I always wonder why it is so upsetting?
