Personally think the point is to get well into next year's election cycle and have the public just plain sick and tired of hearing about this corrupt asshole and all the various unethical or illegal things he does or has done and just want to move on.

We will see if that works, but I don't see the benefit in making this whole ordeal 2019 news because ultimately it will be resolved in the 2020 election (not a Senate impeachment trial, which will be a sham from its inception).
