What should we do. The math on the 7.6%
annual reduction every year for 10 straight years yields a 55% required reduction in GLOBAL emissions over the next 10 years. The US, EU, Canada, Australia, Japan, and South Korea could all go to ZERO by 2030, and unless the rest of the world led by China, India, Brazil, Indonesia, etc cuts by emissions by 1/3 (good luck with that) we still miss the global target. And that assumes the developed world goes to zero (which is totally not a reality even if you had the political will).
The required reductions in the next 10 years are so ridiculously unattainable, we might as well start working on plans to counteract / adapt to greenhouse gas emissions and the impact on our climate. We are not going to cut our way to solving the problem without genocide and mass starvation and the death of billions of people.
