The word "terrorism" got too much play during the W years. Use that

word, and the fear helps generate support and funds to be used for whatever you wanted.

Then it became, "see there's terrorism on Obama's watch." Now it is "see there is terrorism on Trump's watch."

Just isolate the cause of the violence and come up with strategies to reduce it. Yes, this includes sensible gun laws (which the GOP fights), good mental health policy (which the GOP voices, but won't fund), and sensible foreign policy which doesn't unnecessarily incite anger towards the US (though some is inevitable, IMO, if we are an international player).
