Both the alarmist and the denial camps have serious issues, but the end result is that the climate change topic is sucking the air out of the room when it isn't even in the top 3 of global environmental issues (see figure). Flow of nitrogen and phosphorus into the oceans are a much bigger issue and hardly anyone is talking about it. Mass-extinctions are finally getting some attention. Even land system change (for example terraforming most of Europe from forest to farmland) is a bigger issue than climate change.
