One of Trump's philosophies is "Never give up an advantage / never fail to

use an advantage."

I reluctantly admit to having watched "The Apprentice" for the first 2.5 seasons. Eventually, partway through the 3rd season, I turned to my wife and said "Do you still enjoy this show? This guy is just an asshole, and I'd rather not spend time on it anymore".

But the "Advantage" rule comes from one episode where a guy had immunity from being fired, since he was the project manager for the prior (won) challenge. His team lost the next challenge, but he was immune due to that rule. The guy spoke up in the "Board Meeting" that determined who Trump would fire, giving his opinion on who needed to go. Trump asked him if he was confident that it wouldn't/shouldn't be him if he didn't have immunity, and the guy said "Yes, I did very well in this challenge, even if I didn't have immunity I'm clearly not the person who should go."

Further discussion, etc. led to Trump essentially bullying him into backing up that thought. Giving up his immunity because he wasn't deserving to be fired.

When he did give up his immunity, Trump said (in more words) "Never give up an advantage or give up a position of power. You're fired." as the business lesson of the day in that episode.
