Well, we shouldn't have USED it. I think Gowhoos point is that, the net-net


of all this, provided we don't USE that power this time, (as neither he on the right nor I on the left think even Trump is stupid enough to do [W and his crew were once-in-a-generation stupid and arrogant]) could well be a way forward without war, with some sort of agreement on nuclear stuff (for us) and sanctions relief (for them) now that both sides have rattled their sabres a little.

A few days ago I predicted a new deal in a couple months. My biases being what they are, I said the same deal we had under a new name. Gowhoos biases being what they are, he/she may expect a "better deal."

But I think he and I agree SOME sort of deal is coming
