It certainly is abnormal for the DOJ to go back and attack the FBI's FISA
warrant applications and petition the FISA court to declare them invalid for political reasons. That much is certain.
That said, I have no problem holding Comey and others accountable if they really did take things too far and made misrepresentations or omissions in the application process. I would hope no one would be OK with that.
Of course, I'm not sure I trust the integrity of the DOJ's efforts here one bit, and it looks like even they aren't trying to claim Page never should have been surveiled (just that it should have ended after the first two warrants). Not to mention Page was never charged with anything and there was no "fruit" from the proverbial poisonous tree that negatively impacted Page .... which again makes it odd that three years later the courts and DOJ are still after the warrant application.
