Is a recursive function - I.e., popularity at t=1 is partly a function of popularity at t=0. This is particularly true in a year like this one where there is a particularly high premium place on electability.
I suspect some voters have been reluctant to support Bloomberg until they saw others do so. Taking the lead in a prominent state, Especially if it gets media play, could light the fuse for his candidacy.
