your perspective about who holds the higher moral ground. That's not what I'm talking about. A reputation isn't built or destroyed in a day. Well, maybe destroyed, but a reputation is established through a long history of interactions in which both sides play a role. One side you don't control (but can influence through your actions). The other side you have absolute control over.

So regardless of who holds the higher moral ground in today's skirmishes, I submit that the more important questions for all posters (me and you included) are:
1) How we want to be seen by other participants over the long haul (respected? feared? disdained?)
2) How we want others to respond to us, and
3) What kind of behaviors are most likely to elicit those responses.

We all have the power to influence these outcomes -- if we choose to use it.
