I don’t have an opinion of the guy, but if we want to

attract, smart, competent people to roles such as that, we need to change the mindset that $209k is “ridiculous pay”. Most people qualified to lead an organization such as the CDC, or any large governmental agency, could make many times that amount elsewhere.
