Correction: 99% of the 18% of deaths they studied had underlying illnesses


"The Rome-based institute has examined medical records of about 18% of the country’s coronavirus fatalities..."

From clicking the link to the study itself, it looks like they examined the records of 355 out of 2003 deaths. (They are now up to 2,978 deaths as of yesterday.) The study report is in Italian, so I don't know if they explain whether the 18% they looked at is a random sample and can be extrapolated to the full population.

So, while it is encouraging news for healthy people and hopefully does hold true for all cases, it's still limited data.
