In great depression suicide rate was about 20 per 100,000. Typical rate
over past 20 years or so is about 12 per 100,000. So an extra 8 suicides per 100,000 works out to be about extra 26,000 deaths. So case can be made there will be thousands of extra suicides if economy falls into a depression. [Post edited by JohnHoo2 at 03/24/2020 3:53PM]
