But, that being said, hopefully the social distancing early on in the other areas of the country help us, as you state, allocate resources to containing and treating the areas hit hardest, and prevent others from popping up. Looking back, there have been some really good decisions made across the board to help. Cancelling ACCT, NCAAT, NBA, moving to online higher ed, and all those events, IMO really helped. Think how bad this could have been if we only had 1 weekend of the NCAAT. I mark those dates (first week of March) as when we finally took this seriously as a country, and if the data is actually a real indicator, here we are three weeks later and we may be seeing some good early results of those moves.

In virginia, 25 deaths so far, 8 are from that nursing home in Henrico County. That being said, those who have died, had to be infected 3 weeks ago. So the next two weeks will be very telling, as the number of cases started to spike about two weeks ago.

My hope is that, we keep this under control, while healthcare professionals test different drug and treatment methods to reduce the severity of the virus, which then allows us to loosen the leash a bit on social distancing, while a vaccine is created in the next 18-24 months. I also see a lot of businesses doing their best to implement safe zones. Was at home depot yesterday, they have all the checkout areas taped off. Only 1 in the checkout. At customer service, there is a table in front of the counter, that keeps you 8 or so feet from the person at the counter.
