That philosophy is unconscionable in situations like this.
I think everyone accepts that matters like national defense, national disasters, and infrastructure are among a number of things that only an entity with the resources of the federal government can effectively manage.
Weeks of indifference, dismissal, denial of the potential of the pervasiveness of Covid-19 reveal a failure to recognize this as a national challenge and therefore subject to a national solution. It is as if most of the country was hit by a category 5 hurricane, but without the traditional response that a hurricane would get. It is not that this failure was planned, it was simply inevitable, given the shortcomings of that political philosophy.
