This is a contageous disease. That said, Trump didn't take the virus seriously until it was too late. We lost 6 weeks of lead time. In late Jan / early Feb., Fauci talked about the potential disaster of a pandemic in regards to a shortage of capacity at the hospitals. We did not prepare. Unlike South Korea, we did not coordinate the efforts of the public and private sectors in producing a viable test. That's one of first steps in containing an outbreak. More importantly, Trump continued tell Americans that the virus was under control and compared it to the common flu.

This is where the flattening of the curve comes in. That should have been the priority of the President. Trump had a different agenda.

Again, it's one thing to ask "why didn't you react sooner?" Second guessing will always happen. It's another question when it's, "why did you misinform the public?"

By the way, on this very board 3 weeks ago, I said I used Adam Silver as the voice of reason on the virus. That said, the NBA was still playing games in states where "crowd gathering" restrictions were issued. It was only after Gobert contracted the virus did they cancel the games. They had to ... or they would have been liable. The Ivy League cancelled their tournament before anyone tested positive.
