A stay at home order and/or orders that close business are EXTRAORDINARY
Measures that should be reserved for the gravest of circumstances. If there’s a re-opening spike, IMO, that’s to be expected. If it’s not substantial and to a point that overwhelms the healthcare system, then it just is what it is. We simply can’t afford to wait for a vaccine.
There’s an incredible lack of empathy from the bureaucrat class and self righteous white collar employees (who can easily work from home and get products delivered as needed). Small business owners and paycheck to paycheck employees simply cannot afford this and looking at Florida, Georgia, Colorado, etc, the overwhelming public benefit has IMO not been demonstrated [or even close] to justify these stay at home orders other than extreme hotspots like NYC.
The entire argument has gotten distorted... The burden of proof [of overwhelming and indisputable public benefit] is on those who want the lockdown ... not those who want to be able to move about freely.
It’s made worse by the fact that the same dickheads all over social media posting pictures of people not wearing masks are the first ones to bitch if their FedEx, UPS, USPS, Instacart or Grubhub driver (who must apparently expose themselves to a deadly virus to keep said dickhead comfortable at home) dares show up 10 minutes late.
