Seems likely to be a number of factors as noted, but the BCG angle

is still a little bit interesting. So important to stay away from non-scientific conclusions with COVID, but it is hard not to notice correlation with countries where the BCG vaccine is/was still given over the past 10 years and a number of lower death rates --- the theory being how that vaccine may help immune systems with this type of virus in ways nobody is quite sure.

However, you do have countries with BCG that are also clearly not "immune" -- such as Brazil. But could this be due to partly to the extreme density that many live in poor areas of a country like Brazil with less ability to take precautions like Singapore? We also have no clue regarding actual Brazil mortality rates.
