vote since the 1980s -- the 2004 re-election of Bush, and it was pretty close. Their "overwhelming majority" in the House was short-lived and the consequence of gerrymandering and low midterm turnouts while we had an incumbent Dem president. They have been losing ground on all fronts except the Senate where dirt counts more than people for decades now. And they know very well that trends are not in their favor, and when the American people show up and vote they lose.
