Agree perception is reality, which makes it effective propaganda.
The US has its problems. The global aspect of this is a bit I don't quite know the word for it. There's obviously racism in other parts of the world, and linking it that way makes sense. But so much of what's going on here is particular to the United States- more aggressive/"militarized" police, more crime, more guns, the history of slavery and Jim Crow, highly stratified economy with limited safety net and health care, etc. Trump. None of that really applies the same way to Europe. The world is clearly very invested and interested in our politics and culture, that can't be questioned, the average person in another country probably pays 100x more attention to what's going on here than people here reciprocate.
