2 points/opinions. 1. I don't think it's all / just 'gun nuts.' I'm

betting that there are quite a few first time gun owners deciding that now might be a good time to arm yourself. There's a poster on TSL who's (based on his comments) in his low to mid 60's in age. He and his wife are going to a shooting range for the first time in their lives, testing pistols, figuring out what they want to buy, and then they're signing up for an NRA safety course (which is about the ONLY thing I can give the NRA a thumbs up for).

So that's one anecdotal example, but I be there's more.

But point 2 is that this happens every time a Democrat is about to be elected president, and the 'gun nuts' decide that they need 3 more firearms and 5,000 rounds, since they're convinced that Biden (or Obama, or Clinton) will be coming for their guns.

So yes, a big part of a sales increase is gun nuts, but I'm betting that there's a not insignificant number of 'normal' citizens as well.
