Feel to the demands of the Uber-woke to me. Except the Uber-woke are eating their own. I thought Bill Maher’s new rules covered it well on Friday. He may be a lib, but he’s no friend of the Uber-woke. He talks about the impossibility of satiating their appetites for wokeness. Such as people getting skewered by the left for retweeting the black rectangle with insufficient comment. Or any comments in support of the BLM movement that are deemed insufficient by the wokeness police.

Instead of graciously accepting every attempt to show support, they treat every expression of support for their supposed cause as an oppty for a gotcha moment. Which makes one wonder what the cause really is. I have an Uber woke lefty buddy who owns a vegan restaurant in Cambridge, MA, who’s experienced it first hand. He received a demand to explain what his business is doing for the cause. And he had no idea how to respond to it without putting a bullseye on his back. No answer would be deemed sufficient by those looking for targets.

To me, the Uber woke’s approach to virtue signaling does in fact have a McCarthyism feel to it. The cause seems to be: I wanna be the very bestest virtue signaler, not the best pursuer of real reform solutions.
