I don’t know about that. This seems pretty significant to me.
I agree that anti-Trumpies put too much faith in a scandal about “collusion” - a really nebulous concept - to “rescue” them from the Trump presidency. The Mueller investigation itself was mostly a self-inflicted wound, owing to the idiotic decision to fire Comey as Trump did. But I know too many people who were looking to Mueller as some sort of savior rather than a truth-finder.
And in doing so we opened ourselves up (I was never about impeachment over that, but I am an anti-Trumpie, that’s for sure) to this criticism. We expended a lot of political capital pursuing a pipe dream, essentially.
Still, if the pres of the US is knowingly advocating on the world stage for an autocratic regime that is paying combatants to target the US military, we should know that, regardless of the past.
