Replacement for a conclusive test that currently exists like a swab in the doctors office or antibody test - people aren’t doing this INSTEAD of anything else... Only additive. But even if it’s only 60% effective, it would be a huge breakthrough for testing people coming into large buildings/workplaces, places of worship, etc — places that have the opportunity to be super spreader events and where zero testing is currently done.

It’s also not something that’s potentially risky like a vaccine or medicine ... they’re just breathing into a tube ... there’s no potential harm to the user (other than treating the test as more conclusive than it is).
