Actually the number is 58%, 36% for Hispanics, 24% for whites. The number
of children in single-parent families has gone up across the board. But is that due to societal structure and inequities or the cause?
The bottom line is this; there is no one cause but the massive economic disparities between races not to mention the lack of social safety nets and erosion of the middle class and the war on drugs are all cause for concern. You make it sound like blacks were better off in the first 100 years after slavery? What the hell? During Jim Crow?
