As it always is with this administration, it's the how more than the what

Of course what theDonald is doing now is creating a made for Fox News TV special and collecting images and footage to frighten already-frightened and uninformed people to vote for him. To create the image, he needs men and women dressed for battle clearly.

IIRC, the military leadership has basically rejected the idea that Trump would send them to U.S. cities to deal with the unrest. So what does theDonald do? Finds a few groups of civilian law enforcement and dresses them up like soldiers to do the job. I think most Americans find this repulsive. Hell, I could be convinced that Federal resources could be deployed effectively to help with a number of things. But, I would also want to see (1) clarity of mission, (2) coordination with local law enforcement and (3) oversight and accountability. This is absolutely not what we have today.

Not surprisingly, we have people from the military and people from law enforcement saying the same thing. This is yet another stunt we will look back on and wonder what the fuck our leaders were thinking. Can we imagine a more unAmerican way to go about the stated objective (forget, for a moment, that the stated objective has nothing to do with the real objective)? Again, I hope this fizzles out quickly.
