The only people that want that are the Trumpletons - who won't care about the truth or the spin as long as it looks like theDonald is "owning" the libtards. It doesn't do the freedom-loving Americans any good to see Donald Trump walking around on stage like he's the singer of a band spewing bullshit. That's basically what he did in 2016.

The Biden campaign should let Donald Trump do most of the work for them, though. This election is a referendum on the incumbent and his performance - this isn't about his ideas (or Joe Biden's, really).

That said, if we wanted to create a forum where the candidates would answer questions and respond to each others' positions - it seems like we could agree to something more conducive to that end. No audience. Hell, the guys don't even need to be on stage together. Real-time fact checking, neutral monitor calling BS when it makes sense. Perhaps take questions from ordinary citizens, etc. Maybe an old radio-style debate - LOL. I don't know any reasonable person that wouldn't support that, I also don't think theDonald would ever go for it (one NYT columnist suggested Joe should only debate if theDonald releases his tax returns...).

I also am not as convinced as Donald's supporters that he'd perform well. He is sounding like a frightened, confused old man at this point. Talking about who knows what, feeling sorry for himself. I don't think he's entirely there, honestly.
