Neither side's primary goal is virus relief, I clearly stated that.


I don't disagree with you, that if both sides were interested in virus relief for the American people that they could have, and should have worked out a deal by now, temporary or long-term. Republicans currently want a short term agreement largely confined to additional unemployment relief, and Democrats want a over-arching agreement that goes well beyond the immediate needs of those in need, and are averse to a limited short-term fix.

But as WahooMatt points out, everyone knew this day was coming. Waiting until the benefit expired to earnestly engage in negotiation belies the assertion that Republicans are concerned about virus relief or helping unemployed American workers.
