Now, don't go inventing arguments I didn't make. That's low-rent.
But it is beyond my ability to reason how an intelligent person can look at the GOP's and 45's words and actions and our performance in dealing with COVID-19 relative to the rest of the world, and not see just how poorly it has been handled, from approach to execution.
Inefficient? Dude, he said it was going to magically "just disappear." Fuck sakes, jdub. That's not being inefficient, that's knowingly negligent. And other Republicans just went right along. And, yes, pardon me for getting a little worked up about it. I'm kinda pissed off my kids can't go to school, no sports of interests, hearing of friends and family members dying or being locked in a care facility, foregoing funerals of people I care about, plus a million et ceteras. That tends to rattle person a smidge. Crazy, right?
Do I blame Trump for every death (because that's something I actually need to address, I guess)? No, that's a stretch in addition to being a poor question. But it is not a stretch to say that his handling of the pandemic and the GOP's attitude toward it, generally, absolutely were absolutely multiplying factors for the high numbers of cases, deaths, and for the a significant portion of the economic fallout. As much as it pains a lot of people to accent it, it's plain as damned day.
