All I’m (and I think most on this topic, although it gets convoluted in these extended back and forth sessions) talking about is Trump’s failure to unequivocally condemn the underlying racist philosophies of the protestors that day. That’s his failure, and just anchoring to HO’s post up top, it’s not a myth, lie, or media spin job. He made some decent scripted comments on the Monday after the event, and I’d have been fine if he left it at that. But the next day, when he talked about very fine people on both sides, including those marching with Nazis and white supremacists, he blew that up. He drew instant praise from the racist alt right, especially David Duke.

The only person guilty of murder that day was the driver of the car that plowed into the crowd on the mall. Nobody's suggesting that all racist CVille marchers should be accountable for one person’s crime. But they are all accountable for marching with those celebrating some of the most deadly and evil philosophies in human history. That’s valid.
