Ah. I used to do some policy work with their offices.
Man, I miss being so connected.
I remember my first visit to Senator Conrad's office to talk about some ag finance policy that affected American Indian ranchers I was trying to help. His chief of staff in Bismarck invited my into his back office and spent a full hour (to the point I was feeling guilty) quizzing me about the problem and solutions as I saw it.
It was not at all uncommon to take a flight out of Minot and see one of the Senators in line with his shoes off.
Those really small states grant access and connection in a manner that is hard to explain to peasants in larger states. You really feel like a participant in democracy.
But I get your point.
