Close to 30% of the Latino population in Florida is Cuban, and I'd bet they tend to vote more than other Latino groups do. Older Cubans in particular tend to be as right wing Republican as they come (less so with younger Cuban Americans). Also a lot of wealthier South American ex pats have settled in Florida who really don't have all that much in common with other immigrant groups and tend to be more conservative. It's a much different Latino population than, say, Cali, Texas, or Zona.

I'd note that Bush won over half of the Latino vote in Florida and Romney around 40%.
