I think Ossoff has a very good chance in a runoff.


1) Enthusiasm/momentum for Ossoff was already trending up, not so much for Purdue. I would expect a runoff to catalyze this trend.

2) In the above scenario, many true-believing 45ers (QAnon types, etc.) may have lost interest or confidence in the process, further reducing enthusiasm for a second Purdue campaign.

3) Assuming Biden wins the general, money will POUR in for Ossoff, not so much for Purdue.

3) I am basically guessing here, but it seems reasonable to expect that most of the Hazel voters—those who weren't zealously FOR Hazel—are folks who lean R, but couldn't bring themselves to vote for Purdue. Of these voters, some might see this runoff as a chance to limit D's power by denying them control of the Senate, while others (a larger number, I think) will just stay at home.
