First of all, 1000% chance that whoever was on the losing side was going to bitch and moan about how the process screwed them. That's meaningless.

Second of all, there are better and worse ways of doing it. Some of those worse ways are deliberate impediments thrown up by unhelpful legislatures to speedbump the process.

Third of all, good Democracy is more important than good TV. I matters not one iota if we don't get an Election Night party when everything has a bow on it by 10pm
