GA is weird. (Why am I not surprised) State and Fed special elections are


on different days. State and local special elections are Dec 1, Federal are Jan 5. I have no idea why they would do that since it's easy to imagine both would happen the same year since they require a majority to elect. Why go through the expense and the process twice? My cynical thinking is that it's a way to suppress turnout for the state legislature races which likely benefits Rs.

Registration for the Federal race ends Dec 7, so Stacy has a month to sign up more people, maybe those that didn't think there was really a chance so didn't register for the last one. Of course the Rs will do the same.

It's hard for me to see anything other than one party winning both seats. Perdue led Ossoff by less than 2 percentage points. If the Ds can turn out 100,000 more people they could take both. I wonder who the Libertarian voters will vote for. He got over 2%.
