Because some people do other things than watch CNN and read the NY Times

If you're a 20 or 30 something in good health who tunes out the media noise, it's relatively easy to conduct a risk assessment and conclude that contracting the virus isn't a one way ticket to the morgue. It is also easier to look past the media's desperate attempts to create alarm about long COVID. (I'm guessing they'll not be nearly as eager to cast doubt upon potential long-term effects of vaccines).
The IFR for people in that demographic regardless of co-morbodities is extremely low. I've not seen an analysis of the IFR by age for people without co-morbodities, but it is undoubtedly even lower.
The media seems to have covered every single fatality of someone under 40 in good apparent health (though I've also seen examples where they claim the victim was in good health only to show a photo where they are clearly morbidly obese), so it shouldn't be too difficult to put together some data.
