They had to, if they wanted the lawsuit dismissed. If they didn't care


about the lawsuit, they wouldn't have paid anything.

Even in DC, seven figures is a lot more than it would have cost to try the case. They are well into discovery (they settled just before people like Hannity were scheduled for deposition) so I'm guessing they couldn't possibly have already forked out less than 40-50% of what the fees and costs for the whole ball of wax would've been.

So there's no passing this off as some sort of "nuisance value" settlement.

As you know, counsel.
