when you have an entirely dishonorable person elected. What makes me sad is how effortless it was to get their entire congressional caucus and support base behind it. Nixon tried a lot of the same shit but that was a different America and a different Republican Party then.

Personally think they love Trump so much BECAUSE he thumbs his nose at silly little inconveniences like compromise and consensus building and was willing to just treat Dems (and the 80 million Americans who vote for Dems and our families) like a foreign enemy in a war. They really love that he “fights” to stay in power despite losing....since that is essentially where they are in life and in history, at Least in their own pathetic, insecure minds and overblown egos.

This is who and what they are and they are not going to change. Trump was a consequence more than a cause, IMHO. Sooner or later they were going this way.
