Pro-GOP gerrymandering. It wasn’t realistic to think they would widen that margin even more.

Not to mention retaking the rust belt and the historic shifts in states like GA and AZ, as well as once red to purple states like VA, CO, NM, and NV solidifying as firm blue states.

The only real disappointments both times IMHO were Ohio and Florida, which have both become pretty much red. But again, those two states are choc ful of the types of rednecks and bigoted boomers who are Trump’s base and Florida apparently layered on heavy support from Cubans who had been trending Dem before. Not overly surprising, but still disappointing.
