I don’t think there are many fraudulent votes either in person or in the mail. I would be in favor of doing away with the attempt to “match” the signature. It’s outdated thinking, that never was real science from the beginning. Here’s another example that’s still on the books in my home State of Virginia

From the Motor Vehicle Code

46.2-104

“The owner or operator of any motor vehicle, trailer, or semitrailer shall stop on the signal of any law-enforcement officer who is in uniform or shows his badge or other sign of authority and shall, on the officer's request, exhibit his registration card, driver's license, learner's permit, or temporary driver's permit and write his name in the presence of the officer, if so required, for the purpose of establishing his identity.“

Now how much training do you think the average police officer gets in that skill? None! And do they really still do that? No. Because there are more modern methods of verifying a persons identity.
