McConnel and Pence are engaged in self-preservation only. There is no

reason to believe anything else based on their history.
Romney and Powell, like most of the world, have probably effectively said in public that DT’s deranged, at some point. Their apparent choice to wait it out rather than impeaching is worth considering, of course, but I don’t find either persuasive.
I remember the last time Powell spoke to the world about what’s best for everyone in the face of disagreement from allies.
