An example of the collateral damage of conspiracies
I learned today that an aging relative did something she'll regret for the rest of her life, cutting off ties to part of the family in a way that will be hard to walk back and never forgotten. And it was over her passionate belief in the election fraud story below, that is so obviously false. She believes everything Trump says. So the "stealing" of his 2nd term has apparently become an obsession.
I learned a long time ago that frustration equals the difference between expectations and reality. When people buy into conspiracies it isn't a harmless event, to let play out as many GOP leaders have done. It will end painfully as reality has an inevitable quality to it. I agree with Romney that the only way to treat people with respect is to tell them the truth. But the truth is going to be a hard pill to swallow for those that are so emotionally invested in Trump and his election conspiracy.
The last 10 months have been hard for us all in different ways. I can't wait for these dreadful chapters of Covid and Trumpism to end. I'm considering January 2021 part of 2020.
