I think you are off-base with the Trump-focused aspects in the rest of your post. My side's grievances did not start with him and will not end with him. It's you guys (not you personally, but the left/Dems/etc.) who make it all about him, not us.

While one of the most important things that Trump did is expose the corruption to a greater degree than anyone prior, the system is corrupt -- and getting more corrupt by the day -- whether it involves him or not. This is unsurprising, as most governments, based on history, tend toward corruption over time.

My side is concerned with this, as we understand that systemic corruption is what ultimately leads to the people losing faith in the system, which leads to dissolution of the system. That is dangerous.

A corrupt system is one that tells you A is B and B is A. That's where we are now, IMO. (I know you disagree.) I don't need a system to tell me A is A -- I already know that -- and I'll look askance at a system trying to tell me A is B. When that is the case, there is no reason to trust its verdicts.
